사람에게 기대하지 마라
Do not expect from people




다른 사람에게 너무 여러 가지를 기대하지 마십시오.
한두 가지만 훌륭하면 되는 겁니다.
가족이나 주변 분들에게도 너무 많은 것을 기대하지 마십시오.
그런 것도 스트레스를 줄일 수 있는 방법입니다.
Do not expect various things from others.
It is fine if they do one or two things well.
Do not expect too much from your family or people around you.
That is a way to reduce your stress.




정치가는 정치만 잘하면 되고 사업가는 사업만 잘하면 됐지
인간적으로 완벽하기를 요구할 필요는 없는 겁니다.
대통령에 관한 평가도 여러 가지이고 찬반이 엇갈리는데,
대통령이 그렇게 완벽할 필요가 없습니다.
어떤 한 가지 면에서 표상이면 되고,
편안하게 잘 먹고 잘 살게 해주면 되는 건데,
너무 많은 걸 기대합니다.
It is fine for the politicians do well in politics
and the business men do well in their businesses,
and it is not necessary to expect to be perfection in humanity.
There are many ways to evaluate a president and pros and cons are crossed,
however it is not necessary for a president to be perfect.
It is fine if he becomes a symbol in a specific aspect
and makes us to live well and eat comfortably,
but we are expecting too much.




학자면 자기 학문분야에서 확실하고 신념 있고,
목에 칼이 들어와도 자기가 진리라고 믿는 것에 대해서 용기 있게 밀고 나가면 되는 건데,
사생활이나 매너 등 여러 가지를 들춰냅니다.
그러지 마십시오.
If a person is a scholar then it is fine if he is certain in his study field,
has a faith, and push forward with his courage to the thing he believes the truth
even though his life is threatening, but we tend to disclose many things
like his private life or manners.




종암경찰서 김강자 서장이라는 분이 매스컴에 많이 나오시더군요.
미아리 텍사스에 철퇴를 내린 상당히 용기 있는 분입니다.
인터뷰하는 걸 봤는데, 협박 전화도 많이 온다고 합니다.
그런데 아주 당당하게 자기는 하나도 안 무섭다고 용기를 보여 주더군요.
I saw the person who is the chief police officer of Chong-am police station,
Gang-Ja, Kim many times in the mass media.
He is such a courageous person
who deals a hard blow to the red light district in Miari Taxas in Korea.
I saw his interview and he said he receives a lot of phone calls that threaten him.
He was imposed to show his courage and said he is not scare.




그 한 가지 면으로 참 귀감이 되는 것입니다.
그분의 사생활까지 사람들은 궁금해 하는데 어떤 한 가지 면에서 모델만 제시하면
충분히 자기의 역할을 하는 것입니다.
지금 이 시대에 용기 있게 나서서 그 대단한 동네에 손을 댔다는 거면 된 겁니다.
He becomes such a good example only with one aspect.
People are curious about his private life,
but anybody does enough of one’s role if one presents a model in one aspect.
It is enough of him to do something to such district with courage in this time.




요즘은 가끔 보면 용기 있는 분들이 나오더군요.
기존의 학문이나 종교를 비판하고 신념 있게 주장하는 분들이
하나 둘씩 나타나기 시작해서 참 반갑습니다.
Nowadays, from time to time, I see some courageous people.
It is good to see the people one by one
who criticize the existing studies or religions and persist with their faiths.
