The Toyota Voxy is a highly popular family-oriented minivan in Japan. 

It is available in both petrol and hybrid variants, with the hybrid system offering not only excellent fuel efficiency but also smooth acceleration through the combination of an engine and a motor. The Voxy achieves a superior level of comfort with its low center of gravity and improved quietness.

Although not available in Australia, the Voxy is a beloved vehicle among our staff members in Japan. The ZWR80 series includes the Voxy, Noah, and Esquire, which are sibling cars sharing the same platform.

With a catalog fuel efficiency rating of 23.8 km/L (JC08 mode), the Voxy allows for significant petrol savings. In actual city driving, it achieves approximately 17 km/L. It is highly recommended by our knowledgeable staff who have extensive experience with Japanese cars.

The Voxy offers various seating arrangements and ample versatility. The third row can be folded up to the sides, and the second row can be slid all the way back, allowing for a spacious seating configuration for four individuals. Additionally, it can be utilised for different purposes, such as creating flat front seats or flat rear seats or maximizing luggage space.

The best feature of the VOXY is the “TOYOTA Safety Sense”.

What is TOYOTA Safety Sense?

Toyota Safety Sense, which became standard equipment on all vehicles since 2016, uses a combination of laser radar and monocular camera detection sensors and integrated control based on these sensors to help avoid accidents and mitigate damage from collisions. Laser radar is capable of detecting vehicles at short distances with high accuracy and is less affected by day and night. A monocular camera, on the other hand, can detect vehicles at greater distances and can recognize not only vehicles but also white lines and oncoming traffic lights.

TOYOTA Safety Sense has 3 main functions.

1. Pre-crash Safety System

The system uses laser radar and a monocular camera to detect vehicles and pedestrians (in daylight) ahead on the road. If a collision is predicted, the system alerts the driver of the possibility of a collision with an alarm buzzer and display. If the driver fails to apply the brake, the system activates the automatic (damage mitigation) brake to help avoid or mitigate a collision.

2. Lane Departure Alert

"Supports the driver's ability to stay in the lanes.”

A monocular camera recognizes the white line (yellow line) on the road and alerts the driver with a buzzer and display if there is a possibility that the driver may depart from the lane without operating the turn signal.

3. Auto High Beam

The system automatically switches between high and low beams to support early detection of pedestrians and other objects at night. In addition to preventing the driver from forgetting to switch the beams, the system also reduces the hassle of manual operation.
